Type Locality and Naming
Along the Kupruk River, Arg Basin, Central Tajikistan. A.I. Lavrushevich, V.I. Lavrushevich, 1972 (262, p. 63). Stratotype in the Arg Basin. Previously described as the Middle Arg Subsuite. Belongs to the Pridoli Middle formation in Arg Gr
Synonym: Kuprukskaya Formation, Купрукская св., Pholidophyllum limestones (379), A.I. Lavrushevich. Str. sl. (443).
Lithology and Thickness
Dark gray and black layered to massive dolomitized limestones to varying degrees. Thickness 350m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Kuturak Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Havzak Slates (Khavzak Fm).
Regional extent
Zeravshan-Gissar mountain region.
